Gathering Data
Information about the post-graduation
status of Southeast Community College
graduates was collected directly from
the graduates at or near the time of
graduation and from the National
Student Clearinghouse. The information
was collected by the Career Services
Offices at the time of graduation
through personal conversations,
classroom visits, telephone calls, emails,
mailings, texts and social media. Of this
year’s graduates, 1,176 responded for an
79.6% response rate.
Wage and employment information
has been self-reported by graduates at
the time of graduation. Self-reported
continuing education status was
supplemented with information from the
National Student Clearinghouse.
Throughout the report, all percentages
and counts use the unique number of
graduates, which may be different than
the number of awards. In the data table,
the graduates who completed multiple
degrees will be counted once for each
credential they were awarded.

Since Fall 2023, SCC began automatically
awarding credentials to students who fulfilled
the requisite criteria for a credential. Generally,
these students continued to seek a higher
credential at SCC. These credentials were
excluded from all data in this report because
this does not typically reflect the students’
final intended credential. In 2024, SCC
established credentials for high school dual
credit students and Prison Education Programs
(PEP) for incarcerated students. Because these
populations are unlike traditional graduates,
these credentials are also excluded from the
data in this report.
