14th-century knight! The Introduction
to Medieval Longsword class instructs
students in the history, use, and fun of
the art of the Italian longsword. The class
covers basic guards, strikes, and tactical
concepts straight from the pges of a
607-year-old fighting manual written by
one of the highest-regarded professional
soldiers of his time.
Beginning National Mah-Jongg
Mah-jongg is an ancient game that is once again sweeping
the country. This four-session class will teach the basic
foundations of mah-jongg, and by the end of the sessions
you will be ready to play in casual games with friends.

Loaner equipment is available, and students
only need an open mind, smooth-soled
shoes, comfortable athletic clothing,
and some water. Note: You will be using
synthetic longsword trainers and a fencing
mask. You must be at least 18 years old
to participate.
Mah-Jongg Strategies
So you know the basics of mah-jongg, but are you looking
for some good playing strategies? Join us for this mah-jongg
class, which includes both strategies and play. Strategies
will focus on: power tiles, what to keep and what to pass
during the Charleston, what to discard, identifying safe tiles
and hot tiles, reading exposures, changing your hand, and
which hand to choose.

Beginning Pickleball 101
Six Conventions Every Bridge Player Should Know
Learn about the trending sport of pickleball! Pickleball is
enjoyed by all ages, is easy to learn, and no experience is
necessary. It is a combination of badminton, ping-pong,
and tennis. There will be instruction, basic strategy, and
skills taught, in addition to playing time.
Bridge is like a foreign language, and the better your
language skills, the easier it is to play the game. A good
bridge player doesn’t need to know every convention, but
these six conventions will make your bidding and getting
to the right contract so much easier. Topics include: Jacoby
Transfers and Texas Transfers, Stayman Convention,
strong opening bids and responses, takeout doubles,
WOWIE zowie takeout doubles, negative doubles, Jacoby
2NT, limit raises, and help suit game try. This class is
designed for intermediate bridge players who are looking
for great strategies on getting to the best contract.
Wear comfortable clothes and court shoes. If you have a paddle,
bring one to class. A liability form will be presented at the first
class. Come with a positive spirit and the expectation of making
new friends.

competitive in the bidding. This class will offer strategies
on how to compete in the bidding. Topics include the
Guideline of 20, the Guideline of 15, opening light in third
seat, the necessity of knowing why and when to make
an overcall bid, pre-emptive bids at the two-, three-, and
four-level, essential cue bids, and balancing bidding. This
is an ideal class for any intermediate bridge player.
