Receive three hours of personalized instruction on
the computer topic that meets your need! Training is
scheduled at an SCC facility at a time convenient for you
and the instructor.
Individuals may obtain the Northstar
Digital Literacy Certi昀椀cate when they
pass assessments.

Instructors are available for, but not limited to, the following topics:
Windows, MS Office, Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, QuickBooks,
social media, basic computer assistance, etc.

CLASS ONE:
Introduction to Windows & Microsoft Office Basics
Start your computer journey here. This beginner-friendly
class covers essential Windows desktop navigation, mouse
skills, opening and managing programs, using the taskbar
and Start menu, and basic personalization. You’ll also get
hands-on with WordPad and Microsoft Word, learning
how to change fonts, copy and paste text, and highlight
important content. The class also helps you identify which
version of Windows and Office you’re using. Perfect for
anyone new to computers or in need of a refresher.

Windows Tools, Web Browsing & Snipping Tools

You’ll learn basic internet concepts, how to use the Edge
browser, and practical tools including the Snipping Tool
and Print Screen. The class also introduces OneDrive
basics and shows you how to personalize your browser for
a more efficient web experience.

Advanced Apps, Settings & Customization
Build on your existing skills and take a deeper dive into
Windows. In this class, you’ll learn how to adjust mouse
settings, resize taskbar icons, install and manage apps
from the Microsoft Store, and make the most of tools like
Sticky Notes. We’ll also explore special text functions in
Word, show you how to use the INSERT and DESIGN tabs,
and get hands-on with OneDrive. Plus, you’ll learn how to
schedule system updates and safely install apps directly
from the web. Perfect for anyone ready to personalize and
optimize their computer experience!
